CCS’s Miscles Gamboa qualifies for State Wrestling

    Saturday, Feb. 14, only one wrestler got the valentine they were hoping for, and it was Dylan Miscles Gamboa, finishing in second place at 106 pounds and earning a trip to the Nebraska State Wrestling Tournament, Feb. 19-21.
    The Longhorns took seven wrestlers to the District C4 Tournament in Broken Bow.
It was a tough District, knocking out all but one Longhorn. As a team, the Longhorns finished 14th out of 16 teams.
    Two of the Longhorn wrestlers came within one match of going to State. Tatum May at 126 pounds and Connor Einspahr at 157, both lost in the heartbreak round.
    Miscles Gamboa, (34-6), will take on Heustyn Roesler, (36-7), of St. Paul in his first match in Omaha. Class C wrestling is in the morning session on Thursday, Feb. 19, starting 9:30 a.m. C.T. along with Class B. Friday will also be the morning session that begins at 9:30 a.m. C.T.
