Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14-15, W/P Boys Wrestling Team traveled to Sutherland for the D-4 Wrestling Tournament and returned home with two district champions, earning thier trip to the Nebraska State Tournament, Feb. 20-22.
David Bryner, (44-7), took first place in the 175 pound weight class. Bryner pinned Ty Chinn of Crawford and Josh Miller of Hemingford in the first two rounds.
In the semifinals, Bryner won a decision over Dalten Hagan of Hitchcock County, 12-4 to advance to the finals. Just 0:53 seconds into the second period, Bryner secured a pin over Cody Holmgren (35-3), of Crawford to win the championship.
