Broncos fall to Southwest

    Despite the Broncos being able to move the ball down the field, scores were hard to come by in their 12-55 loss to the Southwest Roughriders.
    The Broncos scored first on a 14 yard run by Kreyton Wiese. Draven Miner’s kick was no good, putting the Broncos on top 6-0. That would be the only time the Broncos would lead.
    The Roughriders ran it in from six yards out and were successful on the two-point conversion, to lead at the end of the first quarter, 6-8.
    Southwest added four more touchdowns in the second quarter, while holding the Broncos scoreless, bringing the halftime score to 6-36.
    In the third quarter, the Roughriders scored on a 38 yard pass. Any hopes of a Bronco comeback were dashed when the Roughriders intercepted a third quarter pass and returned it 52 yards for a score.
    In the fourth quarter, David Bryner added a second score for the Broncos on a 65 yard touchdown scamper.
    Southwest added one more score on a nine yard run, bringing the final score to 12-55.
    The Broncos rushed for 235 yards, while passing for only 16, with two interceptions for a total of 251 yards. The Roughriders rushed for 155 and passed for 127 with one interception, totalling 282 yards.
    Next up for the Broncos will be homecoming against Wallace. Wallace comes into the game with a 5-1 record, having only lost to Southwest 30-45.
