Beverly promoted to pool manager

Landis Beverly, current assistant manager at the Imperial Swimming Pool and recent Chase County Schools graduate, will take over as manager the end of the month.
CCS teacher Shasta Hilker is the current pool manager and will continue in that role until the end of June, City Administrator/Clerk Jo Leyland said.
This was Hilker’s second summer holding the position. Her resignation from her CCS teaching position was approved by the board last week. She is moving closer to her hometown.
Another recent CCS grad, Adalaide Maxwell, also holds the title of assistant manager.
Leyland is unsure if a second assistant manager will be hired, but that will be discussed at the next park board meeting in July.
Hilker’s salary as pool manager was $6,300 for the summer. Leyland said she will be paid $2,000.
Beverly will finish the season on an hourly wage, but will now make $12 per hour.
This was Beverly’s third year as a lifeguard, and he plans to return next summer for the manager position.
Beverly will be attending Kansas State University in Manhattan in the fall, majoring in architecture.
