Athletes, fans turn out for home meet

Tuesday’s perfect track weather brought out fans from the community and school to take in Chase County’s meet. It was the first good weather day for a meet since the season opened, coaches said. Jon Forney of Grant sounds the start gun for the boys’ 3200m relay, as first graders cheer on the Longhorn athletes. Chase County’s coaches often pitch in to make the meet come together each April. CCS throws coach Dan Lenners sweeps off the shot put ring for the next flight. See full results of the meet next week. (Johnson Publications photos)
