Athletes back in field, on court

While the college fall season has been nixed in some conferences, high school sports remain alive and well at Chase County Schools. First day of fall practice was Monday, when a total of 83 athletes reported in four CCS sports. Above, the cross country team of 14 runners takes off Tuesday morning, with a bike-riding Coach Carl Zuege keeping tabs. Below, Longhorn QB Ryan Bernhardt hands off in a running play Tuesday morning. The gridiron team is 25 strong this fall. In the gym Monday, Bryn McNair sends one over after a nice set from Jerzee Milner. Twenty-six are on the volleyball roster. At Schroeder Park, Mercedes Peterson takes a swing at the bat among 17 other teammates.
