Two CCS students attend National FCCLA Conference in California

    Chase County Schools (CCS) students Gabrielle Krutsinger and Alexis Richmond, and members of the Chase County Chapter, attended the 74th annual National FCCLA Conference in Anaheim, California from June 30 to July 4. Over 8,700 attendees took part in the event.
    Both students won at the district and state levels qualifying them for nationals.
    Krutsinger competed in the Entrepreneurship Sr. category with her project focused on her own business, Gabbi’s Fleecies.
    At nationals she received a silver medal and 16th place overall.
    Richmond competed in the Leadership Sr. category and her project focused on her own personal leadership and ways to improve it.
    She received a gold medal and 5th place overall at nationals.
    During the conference, attendees benefited from different leadership sessions, workshops and competed in STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events.
    There were 4,766 STAR event competitors at the conference.
    The students also attended the opening session with keynote speaker, Kyle Scheele, whose speech focused on becoming the best version of yourself.
    The two students also made time to go sightseeing while in Anaheim. They visited the beach, Disneyland and attended the 4th of July festivities.
