With three weeks of school left, end of year concerts beginning

The school year for Chase County Schools (CCS) is coming to a close.
The end-of-year band and vocal concerts have been scheduled to wrap up another year of school activities.
Tonight (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. the high school band will kick off a concert  in the CCS auditorium, said Agnes Strand, director of bands.
Following them will be a performance by the fifth grade band, and then the sixth grade band, who have been getting their feet wet with pep band music, Strand said.
The concert will finish with the high school’s Simply Jazz.
The last band concert of the year will be at high school graduation, May 11, beginning at 4 p.m.
The 7-11 grade band will perform four or five songs prior to the Pomp and Circumstance processional and the recessional.
“We remain very proud of this honor to entertain the crowd that gathers for this momentous occasion,” said Strand.
