Students with Chase County ties earn degrees

Students seeking post-secondary degrees are still receiving their diplomas even though ceremonies are postponed or moved to a virtual format due to COVID-19.
Many have received college degrees with ties to Chase County.
Here are some of them:
Denise Smith
Denise Smith of Imperial received a Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Smith’s degree is in instructional technology with an emphasis in school librarian.
Smith and husband Gregg live in Imperial.
She will start her fourth year in the fall at Chase County Schools as the librarian.
Travis Luhrs
Travis Luhrs received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Luhrs is a 2015 CCS graduate and is the son of Tom and Lynn Luhrs of Imperial.
For the immediate future, Luhrs will be working for his dad at Luhrs’ Certified Seed.
Once the pandemic calms down, he hopes to find a job in Colorado before eventually moving back to the area.
