Spotlighting Class of 2020

While a later graduation ceremony may or may not happen this year, 2020 graduates from Chase County Schools are getting some extra exposure throughout the community now. Above, Hill’s Family Foods owner Dirk Hill, who is restocking the bread shelves, hung three graduates’ senior banners—his daughter Carissa, Nike Smith and Ashley Bubak—in the new windows at the store along East Fifth Street, and said he has room for more. Other Imperial businesses are also showcasing some of the senior banners in their windows and store fronts. Last week along Broadway, city worker Jim Sims, at left, hung one of the banners, this one of Sophie Spady, on a downtown light pole. Several more were up this week along Imperial’s main street. Administration is scheduled to meet this week with seniors and parents about graduation, said 7-12 Principal Jon Lechtenberg.
