Show choir finale draws full house

Chase County’s 9th St. Singers bid their farewell to the school year Friday night as they presented their season finale, “A Night to Remember.”
Twenty-eight numbers were on the program including many of the favorites the show choir performed the past year, as well as some songs put together just for that night.
The annual event, held the night before graduation, was also the final performance for 10 seniors—Colton Burpo, Nolan Spady, Shaylee Heathers, Rose Sullivan, Bridgette Odens, Kaylee Meeske, Kadyn Milner, Kelly Christensen, Dawn Castle and drummer Bryson Fisher.
The program included solos, duets, a quartet, songs by the men and women separately and even a tune in which director Randy Hayes and accompanist Rob Browning joined in with the guys, singing “For the Longest Time.”
At the end, former show choir members in the crowd were invited on stage to sing “The Way Old Friends Do.”        Members of the 9th St. Singers presented Director Hayes tickets and a pit pass to watch the stunt cars this June in Eagle, Neb.
Gifts were also presented to Fisher, their drummer, and Browning.
The 9th St. Singers will be traveling to Branson, Mo., again this summer, where they will perform at Silver Dollar City and open for the Haygoods Show on Thursday, June 8.
