Shorter ‘Aladdin’ production hits mark

A shortened version of the popular Disney movie, Saturday’s staging of “Disney Aladdin Jr.” hit the mark for those attending the afternoon and evening shows. A cast of 30 students entertained with some of the popular scenes and songs from the well-known story, set in the enchanting city of Agrabah. Above, Aladdin (Parker Dillan) is hailed by his friends, from left, Kassim (Tegan Towns), Omar (Nickolas Rau) and Babkak (Morayah Cupp) after his transformation into a prince, which he believes will impress Princess Jasmine. Middle, Jasmine’s attendants, from left, Isir (Valerie Herbert), Rajah (Halle Fiedler) and Manal (Rylie Mintling) ask “Prince” Ali if he has a brother, while, at bottom, Jasmine (Sydnie Allen) remains upset with the plans for her future that are being decided by her father, the Sultan (Stephen Johnson), who’s getting some bad advice from Jafar (Nike Smith) and his sidekick Iago (Kaden Schilke) in the palace.
