Shades of Christmas music fill school gymnasium

Family and friends enjoyed some early Christmas music compliments of the K-4 classes at Chase County Schools. The Dec. 5 program in the Longhorn gym included both familiar Christmas songs as well as some new unique selections. Above, first graders spell out Merry Christmas at the end their “Feliz Navidad” number. Their classmate Bennett Kuenning, pictured second, sported the most seasonal sunglasses, featuring green Christmas trees, during the first graders’ “Santa is the Man” song. Second grader Gigi Schaufenbuel in a ruffled red dress concentrates on her streamer during the instrumental number “Trepak” from The Nutcracker, while kindergartner Anthony Manley, pictured below, enjoys his part in the song, “A Kitty for a Present.” The classes also performed several patriotic numbers under the direction of Jodie Liess.
