Senior range judging team places second at area contest

The Chase County FFA range judging team competed in Alma last week at the area contest.
“We had 11 students compete, six in the senior division and five in the junior division,” Coach Jeremy Vlasin said.
The senior team placed second overall. Members of the senior team were Taylor Jablonski, Lindsey Mendenhall, Jozie Schilke and Austin Bernhardt.
The junior team of Nickolas Rau, Michael McBride, Madelynn Hanes and Jesse Krausnick placed third.
There were 101 individual senior range judgers and 181 individual junior range judgers in Alma, Vlasin said.
“They place the top 20% of individuals,” he added. “Every one of our students made the top 20%. I’m not sure we’ve ever had every one of our range judgers ribbon at an area contest before.”
