School comes to agreement with auxiliary gym general contractor

Board also looks at ESU #15 contract for 2019-20 school year

As of last week, Chase County Schools continued to hold $60,000 in money that would complete the contract with Reichert Construction & Insulation of Scottsbluff.
Reichert was the general contractor for the school’s auxiliary gym that was put into use during the 2017-18 school year.
At their March 12 meeting, CCS board members voted 8-0  to accept a change order with Reichert, which involved the amount of money CCS was still holding out in payment to complete the contract.
The vote approved keeping out $20,000 from the $60,000 left as still owed Reichert.
“This finalizes it,” said Supt. Randy Klooz, adding,  that the $40,000 won’t be paid to Reichert until a few details are completed.
According to Klooz, Reichert agreed to come back and complete some work involving welds on the floor and painting touch-ups on some of the floor lines.
Klooz couldn’t give a date when the work would be finished. He said it’s been scheduled twice but details didn’t get worked out.
