School’s FBLA Veterans Day program for students only

Students at Chase County Schools will celebrate Veterans Day Nov. 11 with a program at the school. Next week’s program will be closed to the public this year.
Students in grades 7-12 will watch at 10 a.m. and K-6 grades at 1 p.m.
Presented by FBLA students at CCS, several grades will take part, as well.
FBLA advisor Sandy O’Neil said the junior high choir and fourth grade will sing and taps will be played. There will be a veterans video, skit and flag folding, O’Neil said, plus Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy papers will be read.
O’Neil said she’d like to include a panel of veterans, but is having a hard time finding people.
She added that she’s disappointed they have to cut the day short and cut things out this year due to COVID concerns.
“I love the atmosphere that having a complete color guard and the veterans on the floor bring to the program,” she said.
O’Neil said to watch the school website, chasecoun tyschools.org, for updates on whether the program would be streamed.
