Ninth St. Singers receive best vocals, runner-up in division

The 9th St. Singers competed at Harvard on March 11, where they were named best vocals of the contest.

They also placed second in their division behind Bishop Neumann in Wahoo.

Bishop Neumann also took the award for best choreography. The group also won last year’s contest.

“The kids continue to improve with each performance,” Director Jill Bauerle said.

“When all is ‘normal’ again, we will try to reschedule our March 23 concert,” she added, referring to the COVID-19 pandemic cancellations.

“Once again, the judges acknowledged the quality of our backup musicians,” Bauerle said, praising Rob Browning And Dirk Green.

“The 9th Street Singers showed great support and encouragement by cheering them on,” she added. “It is awesome to see the CCS singers’ sportsmanship shine as bright as their talent.”
