LB 399 would require civics test for middle, high schoolers

LB 399 would require eighth grade and 11th grade students to complete a 100-question civics exam.
The test would include topics such as American history, geography, government and economics.
The exam would be the same civics test administered to new U.S. citizens upon naturalization.
LB 399 was introduced by Sen. Julie Slama of Peru.
Chase County Schools middle school social sciences teacher Monte Burrell is no stranger to this test being proposed.
