Kindergarten Roundup: getting to know teachers, making new friends

Kindergarten Roundup was held last Thursday for Chase County Schools (CCS). Fifty students attended the event from 8:45 a.m. to 12 noon. Students planning to attend kindergarten this fall got a taste of the monster-themed classroom settings as they participated in various stations, snack time and recess. From top, Beiliam Hinojosa plays with the monster slime he made at kindergarten teacher Mary Fortkamp’s station. Jordyn Haake, another kindergarten teacher, listens as Adam Sparrow explain how to properly color a picture. “When the Monster Came to School” was also read at Haake’s station to introduce classroom rules. Henlie Vogt and Bennett Smith run hand-in-hand making the most of recess time. At the self-portrait page and brain break station, a determined and concentrated Kaitlyn Ferebee writes her name.
