Graduation sends Class of ‘19 out into world

Before he presented the Class of 2019 for receiving their diplomas, Chase County Schools 7-12 Principal Jon Lechtenberg wanted the 38 graduates to remember something.
“Wherever you go from here, we at Chase County Schools want you to know we are proud of you and wish you the best of luck,” he said.
Lechtenberg is completing his first year as a principal, and acknowledged that some in the class knew they’d be graduating and others worked “extra hard” to make it to commencement.
He proceeded to announce each graduate’s name as school board members Willy O’Neil and Karl Meeske handed out diplomas.
In his valedictorian speech, Kalen Wallin wanted his classmates to remember how they came together as a class.
“We accomplished more than we thought we could,” he said.
He said class teamwork was easy to see in the accomplishments of its sports teams, and the successes realized in school organizations in which the seniors were involved.
He also thanked God “for all the blessings he has given each and every one of us.”
