FFVF students highlight rescheduled trip to D.C.

Students who attended the Chase County Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge (FFVF) trip shared their memories and experiences with the public at St. Patrick Fellowship Hall on Monday.
Students on this year’s trip included Madison Schuller, Mason Nordhausen, Dylan Dreiling, Bennett Bauerle, Parker Dillan and Hannah Meeske.
FFVF President Jill Moline thanked attendees for the support in being able to send students on this trip every year.
However, this year was a little different.
The group, accompanied by sponsors Karl and Karra Meeske, were supposed to leave for Valley Forge when the March 13-14 blizzard was predicted.
They left for their Thursday flight out of Denver the day before, but most flights, including theirs, were canceled.
They ended up leaving a few days later for the Washington, D.C. portion of their trip.
The group was supposed to leave last Thursday for the Valley Forge portion, just before their presentation. But again they were met with bad weather.
The flight was fine, but I-76 in Colorado was closed.
