Junior Tegan Towns came home with another speech medal Saturday.
The Chase County speech team attended the Southwest Speech Invitational last week, where Towns finished second in poetry.
Also competing from CCS were Brayan Cazares, Grisledyi Ortega, Kobe Norman and Ricky Chaparro.
Other schools competing included Sutherland, McCook, Wallace, Southwest, Alma, Arapahoe, Maywood, Med Valley, Dundy Co. Stratton and Hitchcock County.
Sutherland took first place, while CCS and Medicine Valley tied for eighth place.
“I am again very happy with how my team is improving at each speech meet,” Coach Alex Schilke said. “They continue to make me very proud. My freshman speakers continue to grow and gain valuable experience,” she added. “(Towns) continues to be a great role model.”
The speech team will compete at Best of the West at North Platte High School Saturday.
