CCS teacher Chelsie Thayer resigns; ELL teacher hired

Administration at Chase County Schools is seeking a family and consumer science teacher.
Chelsie Thayer, who taught in that area and served as the FCCLA advisor, submitted her resignation earlier this month. She will complete her fifth year at CCS the end of this school term.
Her resignation was accepted at the board of education meeting Tuesday night.
Thayer said she has accepted a position as family and consumer science teacher at Southwest Public Schools in Bartley. Originally from McCook, she said she plans to reside in McCook to be closer to family and friends.
At Tuesday’s meeting, 7-12 Principal Jon Lechtenberg said he’s already talked to some potential candidates for the position, some of whom are interested in parttime teaching and others, fulltime.
The board also approved the hiring of Beth Bonne of Cortland as an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher. She will replace Gregg Meyer, who will be moving to a middle school teaching position.
