CCS students perform well at music contest

    Chase County Schools (CCS) was represented by 18 middle school vocal students last Friday at the Cambridge music contest.
    Randy Hayes, CCS 7-12 vocal instructor, said the Junior High Show Choir received a I rating for their performance.
    Other students who scored high ratings were Elizabeth Reeves, I rating for a solo.
    Reeves and Aliana McNair received a I rating for a vocal duet.
    McNair, McKenzie Vogt, Tristen Stumpff, Katelyn Stamm and Brooke Schilke, all received II ratings for their solos.
    CCS did not have any band students attend the contest this year.
    The Cambridge music contest offers grades 5-8 students the opportunity to participate in solos, ensembles, large ensembles in both band and chorus.
