CCS students perform in Nebraska music events

Chase County Schools students participated in the Sing Around Nebraska event sponsored by the Nebraska Choral Directors Association.
There were 18 CCS students in grades 4-6 who traveled to North Platte High School on Jan. 13 to join other students from around Nebraska to perform six two-part and three-part song selections, said Jodie Liess, K-6 vocal music instructor for CCS.
The day began with rehearsals at 9 a.m., and the concert was performed at 4 p.m.
The guest director was Cody Talarico from Bellevue.
“The students did exceptionally well and represented our school and town in the best possible way,” said Liess.
CCS students perform in separate music event
Last Saturday, Lucy Spady and Sophie Fiedler attended the Singing Youth Nebraska Honor Choir, said Randy Hayes, CCS 7-12 vocal instructor.
The Honor Choir was also sponsored by Nebraska Choral Directors Association and was held at North Platte High School.
