CCS to present two nights of Christmas programs

Christmas is almost here, and students at Chase County Schools (CCS) are gearing up to perform their seasonal music for friends and family.
On Dec. 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Jodie Liess’ K-4 vocal students will sing a variety of Christmas songs which will include both new tunes and old familiar favorites, she said.
This program will be held in the Longhorn gym.
On Thursday, Dec. 12, grade 5-12 band and vocal students will be giving a performance beginning at 7 p.m., directed by Liess and band director Agnes Strand.
“The junior high choir will sing a medley of Christmas songs as well as two other pieces,” Liess said. The high school choir will follow with several songs including “O Holy Night.”
The 9th St. Singers, directed by Jill Bauerle, will not be giving a Christmas program, but they may perform a song as a group along with some small group numbers as transitions between other performances, she said.
The 9th St. Singers include nine boys and 17 girls this year.
