CCS one-act places sixth at SPVA

Chase County Schools’ one-act play placed sixth at the SPVA Conference contest on Monday.
They will be competing at districts in Bridgeport on Tuesday. Other schools at the C1-6 competition will include Kimball, Hemingford, Hershey, Ainsworth, Valentine, Bridgeport and Bayard.
This year, CCS is performing “Law & Order: Fairy Tale Unit” by Jonathan Rand and is directed by CCS teacher Shasta Hilker.
The play is a spoof of the popular TV show “Law & Order,” with the description of the play following the intro of the TV show, “In the fairy tale criminal justice system, the characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes are represented by two separate yet equally ridiculous groups: the fairy tale police who investigate fairy tale crime, and the fairy tale district attorneys who prosecute the fairy tale offenders. These are their stories.”
