CCS one-act places fifth at districts

Chase County Schools’ one-act cast performed at the district C1-6 competition last week.
The group performed a play called “The Case of Alex Hansen.”
“It was going to be a tough competition,” Director Jill Bauerle said.
Three of the competitors at districts this year went to state last year, including Ravenna, Gordon-Rushville and Hershey.
The three schools were in three different districts last year, but are all in the same this year with CCS.
CCS ended up placing fifth.
“They did well, but some of the judges were tough,” Bauerle said.
Co-directing the CCS play was Mary Fortkamp.
Winning district C1-6 was Ravenna, who will be competing at the state competition for their performance of “A Midsummer Night's Dream.”
Full results from districts include:
1, Ravenna; 2, Gordon-Rushville; 3, Bridgeport; 4, Hershey; 5, CCS; 6, Southern Valley; 7, Ainsworth.
