CCS musicians bring home 15 SPVA Best of Class titles

Chase County again led the Best of Class winners at last week’s SPVA Conference music contest in Bridgeport.
CCS musicians gained 10 of the Best of Class designations in the vocal area, and another five in the instrumental divisions at the March 19 contest.
In order to be considered for Best of Class, the entry must have first received an overall superior (I) rating by the judges.
Each school could have up to 25 entries in each of the vocal and instrumental divisions. The CCS vocal department took 24 entries, while instrumental students were entered in 13 divisions.
Randy Hayes directs the high school’s vocal program (grades 6-12). Agnes Strand heads the instrumental department (grades 5-12).
