Wilma Eileen Egle

Wilma Eileen Egle was born to William and Georgia (Thomas) Williamson on Nov. 12, 1924 in Stratton, Nebraska. She attended school in Stratton and graduated from Stratton high School with the class of 1942. Wilma married Dwight William Egle on Nov. 8, 1942 in McCook. The couple would live in Stratton, Wauneta, New Lenox, Illinois, and finally in Imperial.
Wilma was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauneta and was active in the American Legion Post #304, serving in the auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading.
Wilma passed away Sunday evening, April 29, 2018, at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial. She was 93 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Lauffer, her parents and seven siblings.
Survivors include husband, Dwight of Imperial; sons, Jerry (Mary) of Phoenix, Arizona and Pete (Bobbi) of New Lenox, Illinois; son-in-law, Wayne Lauffer; daughter, Bobi (Steve) Hicks of Indian Trail, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Don Bogart of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and sister-in-law, Sandra Williamson of Arapahoe.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta, with Rev. Gary Hunt officiating.
A memorial has been established in Wilma’s memory.
