Susan Ann Castle was born on October 11, 1965 in La Junta, Colorado to Wilford and Genevieve (Wulfekuhle) Tomky.  She grew up in Lamar, Nebraska and attended school and graduated from Chase County High School with the class of 1984.  She later furthered her education at North Platte Community College, studying to be a laboratory technician.
Susan enjoyed helping people and working in health care.  After graduating, she spent a brief time with a few surrounding hospitals until an opening became available at Chase County Community Hospital, where she worked for over 35 years.
On January 21, 1989 Susan married her high school sweetheart, Larry Castle at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Imperial.  Susan and Larry settled on a farm 15 miles north of Imperial.  Susan enjoyed being a farm wife and a mother. From their beautiful marriage two daughters were born: Mindy and Dawn. She had a knack for making things beautiful and never shied away from hard work.
In her free time, Susan enjoyed gardening, painting, and drawing. Every fall she painted many fun pumpkins with goofy faces, and for every birthday she decorated the coolest Barbie cakes. She loved her grandchildren deeply and enjoyed spoiling them. She had an eye for creative design, and won the fair bale decorating contest for many, many years.
Susan was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church Altar Society.
Susan passed away on August 24, 2026 at her residence in Imperial.
