Sharon Kay Jaeger

Sharon Kay Jaeger was born July 16, 1943 to Raymond (Pat) and Delma (Brown) Jaeger. She passed away at home in Longmont, Colo., on April 4, 2017 at the age of 73 years old.
When Sharon was in high school, she worked as a waitress at Hurds, Babes Cafe, The Bakery and several small cafes. She graduated from Chase County Schools in 1961.
She continued working as a waitress until she enlisted in the Army in 1964. She was trained as an Operating Room Tech and assisted doctors during surgeries.
She served her country in Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Virginia and Frankfort, Germany during the Vietnam War and finished her active duty in Missouri. She then left active duty, had her son Patrick and finished her service in the reserves in Denver, Colo.
She served in the 181st and 406 combat support hospital. She retired in 2003.
Her civilian jobs included the Lutheran Hospital as an OR Tech, Local 9 as a computer operator and two banks in Boulder, Colo. She retired at 62 from Boulder Community Hospital where she worked in accounting.
Sharon is survived by her son Patrick Adam Jaeger; sisters Patricia Thompson, Delores Befort, Joyce Roesener and Marla (Darty) Schilke; brother Bill (Jan) Jaeger; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Pat and Delma and brothers-in-law Jim Thompson and Oliver Befort.
Sharon has chosen to donate her body to science. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Imperial will be at a later date with a military graveside service.
