Pamela Levitt Stanfield
Pamela Sue Levitt Stanfield of Aurora, Colorado left this world peacefully on March 14, 2019 after a brief illness.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1958 in La Mesa, California where she spent her childhood and teenage years soaking up the southern California sea, air and sunshine. Pam graduated from Grossmont High School in 1977 and received her Bachelor’s degree from MSU in Bozeman, Montana in 1985.
She worked in several fields including the oil industry, seismography, housekeeping in Yellowstone National Park, bartending, waitressing, activities director for nursing homes in Imperial and Denver, Colorado.
She spent many years aiding the elderly and developmentally disabled. Her most recent position was a transit certification specialist for Easter Seals, Colorado.
One of Pam’s most lovable attributes was her adventurous spirit. She wasn’t afraid to say yes and jump headfirst into new experiences. She traveled to many places and met many people along the way. She was such a vibrant spirit who brought a smile to the face of every person she met along the way. Pam’s life was a blessed one from beginning to end, but two blessings stand out as the brightest in her life: her son Dillon Hrcka and her husband Kimberly Stanfield.
Her love for these two men was fierce, and they love her just as powerfully. She leaves behind many friends and loved ones whose hearts she touched deeply. We will all miss the beauty and light Pamela brought to this world. More than anything, we will miss watching Pam dance—anytime, anywhere. In the words of one of her dear friends, “Pam, you’re like a butterfly and are more colorful than the highest rainbow. It’s as if your shadow has no darkness. I am uplifted by your spirit.”
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Angela Hrcka.
She is survived by her son Dillon Hrcka; husband Kim Stanfield; daughter Kimi J. Stanfield; grandson Jaxen Hiland Stanfield; parents Jack and Kay Levitt; sister Kristy (Dave) Michael; brother Steven (Raquel) Levitt; nephews Nicholas Levitt, Jack Michael, Joseph Michael; and niece Patricia Levitt Brumley.
Pam’s advice to us all comes from one of her favorite songs: “When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.” (Lee Ann Womack).
There will be a celebration of life for Pam Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Famous Door 2, 15220 E. Hampden Ave., Aurora, Colorado.
