Mary Quint

Mary Quint, 92 passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026 in Bellevue, Nebraska. Mary was born on November 29, 1933 in Russell, Kansas to John and Phoebe Streck. She was the youngest of three girls.
As a child she delivered milk for the family dairy before school each day. She graduated from Russell High School in 1951. She worked as a teller at the Russell State Bank. On Apnl 25, 1959 she married James Quint in Russell, Kansas.
She followed James as he completed his masters degree and a short time working at Boy’s Town in Omaha, Nebraska. They then moved to Imperial, Nebraska in 1962 where James took a teaching position at the high school and raised their three boys there.
In 1984 they moved to Auburn, Nebraska where she worked as a library aide at the high school until they both retired and moved to Sun City, Arizona. Years later she moved back to Bellevue, Nebraska to be closer to family.
She was a proud and guiding mother, a doting grandmother and a generous friend to many. She loved her cheerios, kleenex and jumble word games.
Mary is survived by sons Chris (Dean) of Kaneohe, Hawaii and Sid (Susan) of Bellevue, Nebraska and grandchildren Abby, Ally, Lily, Scott and Mia. She was preceded in death by her husband James and son Bruce. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion also a model for living with courage and grace.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday May 30, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Church 415 South Windsor Street, Russell, Kansas 67665
