Lynette Ann Johnson — or Nanny, as she was known to family and friends — had great joy to life.  Born April 7, 1954, she was a lifelong teacher starting with her two younger sisters.
Lynette enjoyed spending time with friends, learning new things, and playing sports throughout her school years.  After graduating Chase County High School in 1972, Lynette attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, earning a Degree in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Special Education.
While home from college she met Rod Johnson and they were married on Memorial Day weekend, May 29, 1976.  Rod and Lynette made their home on the farm south of Imperial, Nebraska where they raised their three boys.  She loved camping, entertaining and spending time with family.  Lynette was an avid gardener with a beautiful yard and was an excellent cook.  Lynette loved animals, especially raising sheep.  She was a devoted Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed following her boys in sports.  Lynette taught education in the Imperial area for 30 years.  She was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA as a volunteer, educator, and mentor.  In March 2006, Lynette was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s and faced a long battle ahead.  Lynette’s strong faith in God kept her moving forward until she passed away on Feb. 25, 2020.   She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
