Johnnie Reubon Weiss was born to Reubon Johnnie and Betty P. (Carey) Weiss on April 11, 1947 in Imperial, Neb.
He attended school in Imperial and graduated from Chase County High School in 1965.  After graduation he went on to attend Kearney State College in Kearney.
Johnnie was married to Charlottie Castle in Imperial in 1968.  They made a home on an acreage in Chase County, before eventually moving to a farm in Perkins County.  The couple had three sons, Dirk, Dean and Dain.  John farmed in Perkins County, worked as a typesetter for the Imperial Republican, was the Deputy County Assessor in Perkins County, a bus driver, a taxi driver and a truck driver.  He enjoyed fishing, driving and playing cards.
John passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at his home in Imperial. He was 70 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include sons Dirk (Wenny) Weiss of Imperial, Dean (Jan) Weiss of Franklin and Dain (Victoria) Weiss of Lincoln; six grandchildren, David, Jacob, MaKayla, Ryan, Morgan and Breck; and sister Peggy (Leland) Norman of Prescott, Ariz.
Graveside services were held Tuesday morning, March 6, 2018, 11 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, with Pastor Melody Newman officiating.
A memorial has been established in Johnnie’s memory.
