Harvey (Bud) McBride

Harvey (Bud) George McBride was born Feb. 6, 1940, in Imperial, Nebraska, to James Edward and Elzie Maud (Cline) McBride. Bud grew up in Wauneta and graduated from Wauneta High School. On Sept. 25, 1963, Bud was inducted into the U.S. Army in Denver, Colorado. While serving, he was a member of the military police. Bud was honorably discharged on Sept. 24, 1965.
After arriving home from the service, Bud began a career in farming. He was employed at several different locations including Wauneta Coop Oil, Wayne Smith Farms and Maddox Cattle Co. where he worked for many years. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed fishing and shooting his guns. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Bud passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Great Plains Regional Medical in North Platte. Bud was 81 years of age.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; son Mark Forbes; sisters Mary Ellen Budnella and Jacqueline McBride; and brother-in-law Duane Leroux.
Survivors include: daughters, Tiffany Jo McBride of Imperial and Melissa Ann McBride of Imperial; two grandchildren, Shanissa Lee McBride and Roper Lane Cochran; brother, Jerry McBride of Wauneta; sister, Nancy Leroux of Byers, Colorado; brother-in-law, John Budnella of Colorado Springs, Colorado; numerous nieces & nephews.
Graveside Interment Services will be held Thursday, May 13, 1 p.m. (CT) at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2-6 p.m. (MT) at the Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta.
A memorial has been suggested in Bud’s memory to the Wauneta Chapter of FFA.
