Earl Castle

Earl Castle, 77 of Ogallala, passed away on October 15, 2019, at the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.
Earl was born February 22, 1942, at Imperial, Nebraska, to Mearl and Amy (Hastings) Castle. He attended Chase County High School.
On May 28, 1961, Earl married Edna Wagner at Imperial, and their union was blessed with three girls, Gayle, Gina, and Carla. The couple had lived in Grant for a few years before moving to Ogallala. They moved to Grand Island for a few years, before returning to Ogallala. Earl had worked at Stickney’s and later managed Wheeler’s, before becoming self-employed in the early 1970s, when he purchased a Lakeside Trailer Park and started a spray-in insulation business.    
Earl loved to visit with people and enjoyed bantering back and forth with people. He was clever and liked to have fun with people. Earl had three grandchildren, who he adored. He and the family spent many hours at Lake McConaughy over the years, camping, fishing, and water skiing.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Edna of Ogallala; three daughters, Gayle (Rollie) McDaniel of Arvada, CO, Gina (Chuck) Saunders of Lewellen, Carla Castle of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Samantha, Alexandra, and Jake; siblings, Merlin (Kay) Castle of Imperial, Russell (Lavona) Castle of Powder Springs, GA, Charlottie (Dan) Wallin of Grant; along with many other relatives and friends.  
Memorial services were held on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ogallala with Pastor John Stubenrouch officiating.
A memorial has been established in Earl’s memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
