Death Notice: Sid Harchelroad

    Funeral services are pending for well-known car dealer Sid Harchelroad of Imperial, who died Tuesday, Jan. 30.
    Harchelroad was president and CEO of Harchelroad Motors, Inc. with locations in Imperial and Wauneta.
    He was the third generation of Harchelroads involved in the car and farm equipment dealership. His grandfather, Harvey, started the business in Wauneta in 1941.
    Sid joined his father, Gene, in Wauneta and led the expansion of a dealership in Imperial.
    Sid’s son, Dillon, joined the company as the fourth generation involved in the business.
    The company rebounded from a devastating fire in October 2009 that destroyed their downtown Imperial location.
    Since that time, they have built a new collision and restoration center in 2010 and opened a new dealership facility on East Hwy. 6 in October 2015.
    The company has built a niche as one of the premier Corvette dealers in the country.
    Immediate survivors include his wife, Carol Harchelroad of Imperial; mother Wilva Harchelroad of Wauneta; children Danielle (Levi) Rozga of Eagle, Colo., Dillon (Ashley) Harchelroad, Dustin (Cindy) Weiss and Amanda (Cody) Jantz, all of Imperial; seven grandchildren; brother Brian (Michelle) Harchelroad of Wauneta; and sister, Debra (Jim) Kemp of St. Louis, Mo.
