Clayton P. Giesbrecht

Clayton P. Giesbrecht, 48, of Grant, passed away July 1, 2019, as a result of a motor vehicle accident west of Imperial.
Clayton was born Oct. 1, 1970, at Tribune, Kansas to William “Bill” and Irene (Becker) Giesbrecht. In 1975, the family moved to Madrid, where Clayton attended Perkins County Elementary School and Golden Plains Christian School.
Clayton and his brother, Sheldon, started C&S Construction, where “the boys,” as they became known, worked around Perkins County and the surrounding areas. Clayton enjoyed his employee and customer relationships.  These relationships developed into life long friendships. He appreciated the local community and took an active interest in it.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law Linda Toews; along with many of his aunts and uncles.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Karen of Grant; their four children, Clay (Cynthia) Giesbrecht, Austin Giesbrecht, Anna Giesbrecht and Kristine Giesbrecht, all of Grant; sister Sheila (Patrick) Binkley of Campbellsburg, Indiana, brother Sheldon (Tammy) Giesbrecht of Elsie; father-in-law Walter (Ruth) Toews of Madrid; sisters-in-law Phyllis (John Mark) Koehn of Montezuma, Kansas, Carol (Arlen) Friesen of Bloomfield, Iowa, Twila (David) Schmidt of Ronan, Montana; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Clayton’s memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com.
Services were held on Friday, July 5, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Golden Plains Mennonite Church west of Madrid. Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery.
Visitation was held Thursday, July 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge of arrangements.
