Charlzie Treece

Charlzie Marie Treece, 91 of Wallace, Neb., passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.
Charlzie was born Oct. 26, 1925, at Loco, Texas to James M. and Adron B. (Hazard) Gibson.
On Dec. 28, 1942, Charlzie married Leon Treece. The couple made their home in Dallas, Texas where Charlzie worked as a medical assistant and bookkeeping. Later, she did secretarial work in the Shamrock, Texas school system before relocating to Ranger and San Angelo, Texas where she worked as an administrator for the nursing homes and HMR facility there.
Charlzie retired in the late 1990’s and remained in San Angelo until 2001 when she moved to Grant, to be closer to family due to failing health.
Charlzie was especially passionate about her work caring for the elderly. Not only was she good with people, she was detail oriented when it came to business, which made her a perfect fit for her job. She also loved to dance.
Charlzie was a member of Eastern Star and was a sponsor for The International Order of Rainbow for Girls.
Charlzie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Ric) Chrisman of Wallace; son, Richard (Sharon) Treece of Bandera, Texas; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is assisting the Treece family.
