Carla (Peek) Brown

Carla Faye Brown was born to Roland Owings and Faye Etta (Purvis) Morgan on Aug. 2, 1961 in Olympia, Wash.
Carla received her GED and went on to work at many businesses in McCook and Imperial. In Imperial, she worked at Jack’s Place for many years as a cook as well as at the Imperial Community Center. Carla was a member of the Imperial Ladies Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren.  
She passed away at her home in Imperial on April 26, 2017.  She was 55 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, two step-fathers and her brother Lonnie.
Survivors include daughter Michelle Chiplaski of McCook; son Rodney Brown of McCook; daughter Angela (Dean) Kahm of Julesburg, Colo.; mother Faye Morgan of Imperial; brother Clay (Vicki) Owings of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren: Katie, Austin, Stacia, Kyler, Teagan, Rodney Jr., Cassondra, Zack, James and Justin; and great-granddaughter Alyssa.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial with Rev. Melody Newman officiating.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
No visitation; Carla chose cremation.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
Liewer Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
