Barbara Ann (Kunz) Parker

It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Ann (Kunz) Parker announces her passing on Saturday, Jan. 6, at the age of 85.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Ed, Christie, Sam, Mike and Susan, and by her thirteen grandchildren, her many great-grandchildren, and by all her family and friends.
Born and raised in Imperial, Neb., Barbara graduated from Chase County High School in 1949.  She moved to Arizona in 1957, where she later opened her own carpet and furniture store in Mesa, Ariz.
She was a successful entrepreneur and also opened businesses in the food and home care industries in Arizona. After moving to California, she worked as an in-home caregiver for the elderly, in and around Santa Cruz, Calif., for over 20 years.
Barbara loved to drive and took many road trips, always enjoying the journey. She made friends wherever she went and was generous and kind to everyone she met.
She had great affection for animals, and some of her favorite past-times were oil painting, taking pictures, baking cookies, playing bingo and playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren.
Her urn will be interred in a columbarium niche at the Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 East Main St., Mesa, AZ 85207.
