Arthur (Jerry) Wissink

Arthur (Jerry) G. Wissink was born Jan. 4, 1965, in Stratton, Nebraska, to Ann Louise (Barnett) and Ronald Dean Wissink.  Jerry grew up and attended school in Stratton and graduated from Stratton High School in 1983.
On Feb. 28, 1987, Jerry married Peri Jo French at the Methodist Church in Stratton.  The couple settled in Stratton were Jerry completed a 22-year career in farming.  The last two years he farmed with his brother-in-law, Joel Richardson. In 2014, Jerry gained employment with Deveny Ford of Benkelman, where he and Peri made their home in 2019.
Jerry was a member of the United Methodist Church in Benkelman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.  Jerry’s love of the outdoors came from growing up on his Granddad’s farm.  That’s where he felt the closest to God and family. Jerry especially loved spending time with Peri and his children.
Jerry passed away Dec. 19, 2020, at his home in Benkelman.  He was 55 years of age.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Ann Louise Wissink; and his grandparents LeRoy and Jewell Barnett.
Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Peri of Benkelman; sons, Matthew A. Wissink of Kearney and Laken T. Wissink of Benkelman; daughters, Harliegh Ray Wissink of Benkelman and Makia J. Wissink of Benkelman; sisters, Rhonda Kadlecek (Chuck) of Dallas Center, Iowa, Annette Silkman (Darren) of Blue Springs, Missouri and Ronnie Ann Richardson (Joel) of Stratton; many nieces and nephews; and many puppies.
A memorial has been suggested to the United Methodist Church of Benkelman.
