4-H Shooting Sports training coming to Imperial

The Chase County Extension Office will be hosting a Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Certification Workshop Oct. 3-4  and Instructor Update Oct. 3.
Chase County 4-H currently offers Archery, BB Gun, Air Rifle, Trap and Pistol. Participants in the training will gain certification in one of the following disciplines: Shotgun, Rifle, Archery, Pistol, Muzzleloading, Hunting Skills, or Western Heritage.
All instruction will be provided by nationally trained 4-H certified instructors with significant shooting and teaching experience. Individuals must attend all of the respective discipline session to receive their discipline certification.
4-H Archery, BB Gun, Air Rifle, Trap and Pistol Shooting Sports programs rely on volunteers. Even if someone doesn’t want to lead a program, assistants are needed and must be certified to help programs run smoothly. Please consider becoming a Shooting Sports Instructor so 4-H programs can continue. 4-H Shooting Sports Leaders and assistants are required to complete Instructor Certification.
Instructor Certification Workshop individuals must be in attendance the entire time of the workshop, both Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to noon, and complete the four online modules before attending the workshop to earn their certification of the discipline. Individuals who have already completed the four modules are not required to complete them again. An Instructor Certification Early Bird Registration of $140 for adults or $120 for early apprentice/ambassadors must submitted by Sept. 23. The cost goes up to $200 after Sept. 23.
The Oct. 3 update sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon and are for adult or apprentice 4-H volunteers who have previously attended a 4-H instructor training workshop since 2020. These are an update for existing active instructors, not a training for new instructors. Attendees be a currently enrolled Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports volunteer leader in their county. An Early Bird Registration of $45 must submitted by Sept. 23. The cost goes up to $65 after Sept. 23.
Chase County 4-H will reimburse the course fee after one year of working with a Chase County 4-H Shooting Sports program.
