Julie Kay Nelson

Julie Kay Nelson, 61, passed away on August 5, 2026, in Lincoln Ne. She was born on October 23, 1964, to Ray and Alice (Curtis) Lindekugel in McCook, Ne.
She worked as a supervisor for State Farm Insurance. Julie was a member of Lincoln Berean Church. She was also an avid Husker volleyball fan for many years. She always enjoyed doing puzzles, playing video games, collecting cookie jars, caring for her dogs, and never turned down watching an episode of Jeopardy.
Julie is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Dr. Travis Nelson (Hannah Lingafelt), Troy (Kelsey) Bohling, and Trina (John) Popple; brother John (Gail) Lindekugel; father Ray Lindekugel (Sue Smith); along with nieces, nephews, and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Alaice, and brother, Jeff.
A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Youth Complex at Lincoln Berean (6400 S 70th St., Lincoln Ne., 68516), with a reception that followed. People attending were asked to wear green in honor of Julie’s favorite color.
An inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials are designated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Capital Humane Society, or K-Love Radio Network.
