Enders Lake hosts large crowds

    Last weekend, the Nation celebrated it’s 250th Birthday and alot of people chose to do so while camping.Park Superintendent, Beau Licking said 30 out of the 40 reserved camping spots were filled.
    Over 60 people used the self register, primitive camping spots and the showers were overflowing with quarters.
    Licking estimated they had between 3500 and 4000 visitors at the lake over the weekend. There were over 100 daily permits sold from the drop box.
    There were no injuries reported and no disturbances. Licking said the campers were very well behaved and he didn’t have anyone breaking the no firework policy, except for some people at the cabins.
    Unfortunately, some of the access for the lake on roads and beaches suffered erosion from the storms that hit Thursday night and the crew didn’t get a chance to fix it before the crowds arrived.
    Rock Creek recreation area, located in Dundy County by Parks Ne., had 25 registered campers over the weekend. That is a large number for that small lake.
