Noah Rau competes at Nike Nationals

Noah Rau traveled to Hayward Field at the University of Oregon to compete in the USATF U20 Meet and the Nike Outdoor Nationals, held over the weekend.
At the USATF U20 meet on Friday, June 19, the throwers used a 1.75 kilo discus instead of the 1.6 kilo discus they are used to throwing. Noah’s best throw was 199’ 3”, placing him third in Friday’s throws, earning him a spot on the podium. Rau was sitting in second place before Chris Marcell of Marathon Wi., took him out on his last throw of the day, with a throw of 200’ 6”. Simon Rosselli, throwing with Iron Wood TC-WA took first place with a throw of 205’ 7”. On Sunday, June 21, in the Nike Outdoor Nationals, Rau placed fourth overall with a throw of 206’ 2”. Simon Roselli, throwing with Iron Wood TC-WA took the top spot again in Sunday’s competition with a throw of 225’ 8”. CJ Williams, throwing with Momentum Throws placed second with a throw of 215’ 10”. Chris Marcell of Marathon Wi. finished third, throwing 208’ 8”. The top eight throwers made the podium and were classified as All-Americans.
This is the second year that Noah has participated in the Nike Outdoor Event, having a much better year this year.
