As the Class of 2026 exited the High School for the last time as students, there was a lot of celebrating going on. The graduates lined the entry sidewalk to the school so people leaving the ceremony could congratulate them.

43 Seniors graduate from CCS

    Saturday, May 16, Chase County Schools held Commencement Exercises for the 43 seniors graduating with the class of 2026. Aria McNair, Alexa Alarcon, James Adle and Kate Colson served as Junior Escorts, while the National Honor Society members served as ushers.
    The CCS Band played Pomp and Circumstance as the seniors entered the gym.
    Miranda Spady and Paige Nickless gave the opening for the class. Jacci Paisley, 7-12 Counsler, gave the welcome address.
    Valedictorian Tucker Mollendor addressed the class, as did Salutatorian, Krayton Paisley.
    The 9th Street Singers gave a final performance with the graduating seniors, singing “Oceans and Stars.”
    The flower Ceremony followed, with the seniors handing out white rose lillies to their loved ones. A slide show followed on the scoreboards, showing each graduate and giving their future plans following graduation.
    Mr. McConnell gave the graduates his take on what life would offer them, before the Board of Education presented each graduate with his/her diploma.
    After Mr. McConnell gave the seniors the instruction to flip their tassels to the left, Anna Aragon and Beau Weiss gave the closing with a prayer, both in english and spanish.
    The graduates left the gym and lined the front sidewalk to receive congratulations from friends and family, before heading to their graduation receptions all over town.
