CCS Track sweeps C-9 District Track

    Thursday, May 14, was a beautiful day for the C-9 District Track Meet held in Grant. Both the boys and girls teams from Chase County brought home the C-9 District Champion Title.
    In doing so, the Longhorn Boys qualified competitors in 12 events and three relays at the State Track Meet in Omaha on Friday and Saturday, May 22-23. The Girls Team qualified in 11 events and all three relays.
    Tate Hubbard broke his own CCS Pole Vault record with a vault of 15’ 2” and taking the championship. Lukas Fries was first in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 39.71.
    Noah Rau won the shot put with a personal best throw of 59’ 9.75” and won the discus, throwing 203’ 7”
    Taking championships for the girls were Emily Randall in the 800, running it in 2:24.48, Addison Hauxwell in the 1600 in a time of 5:44.12. Hayley Rusher was champion pole vaulter, going 11’2”.
    The boys won the 4x400 and 4x800 relays, while the girls won the 4x100 and 4x800.

Championship schedule
    The first day of Class C competition will start Friday, May 22, at Omaha Burke Stadium. Field events begin at 9:00 a.m. Running events will start at 1:30 p.m.
    Saturday, May 23, the schedule will be the same times for field events and running events.
    All tickets are mobile tickets only at a price of: Adults $12 per day and Students $9 per day. Check the NSAA Track and Field website for more information.
